Luxury Resale

Provenance that survives the second sale.

Luxury is authenticated at the first sale. After that, provenance rests on certificates, receipts and the reseller's word, and the brand loses sight of its own products.

NOANE is designed to bind each item to an ownership record that follows it through every resale.

Direct Answer

What NOANE does for luxury resale.

NOANE is a patented custody protocol designed to bind a luxury item to an ownership record. A transfer of that record is designed to need both the item and its current owner, so a buyer, reseller or brand can check that the item is the one on record and that the seller has the authority to sell it.

The Exposure

Authentication stops at the first sale.

The resale market runs on trust signals that scale poorly. Each new owner relies on documents that can be separated from the item.

Counterfeits

Replicas that pass a visual check enter the same channels as genuine goods.

Stolen goods

A stolen item can be resold with its paperwork intact.

Lost value

The brand earns nothing from resales of its own products and has no record of who holds them.

Authentication gets you the first sale. Custody keeps trust through the second, third and fourth.

Authenticated vs Owned

Authenticated once. Owned many times.

Authentication confirms an item was genuine when it was inspected. Ownership is a different question: who holds the authority to transfer this item today.

Authentication today

Confirms the item when inspected
Ties it to a certificate or receipt
Stays with the paper, not the item
Ends at the first sale

Ownership, as NOANE is designed

Binds the record to the item
Needs the item and the owner to agree
Follows the item through every resale
Lets the brand set an optional resale fee

NOANE layers on top of authentication. It does not replace it.

Designed for Every Side of Resale

Who it is for.

Capabilities the protocol is designed to enable. Not all are built today.

Brands and maisons

Identity at manufacture. A view of your products after the first sale. An optional fee on verified resales through participating channels.

Resale platforms

Only the record's owner can list. The buyer verifies on delivery. Funds release when ownership finalizes.

Authenticators

Attach your authentication to an ownership record that travels with the item.

Buyers and owners

Verify with a phone tap. An ownership record you hold.

Insurers

Coverage and claims tied to the specific item and its history.

Repair and service

Warranty and service history bound to the item, not a paper card.

On the Record

An item's life on the record.

How the protocol is designed to follow an item from the atelier to its next owner.

01

Register

The item receives its identity at manufacture.

02

Bind

That identity is bound to an ownership record.

03

Sell

The first owner holds the record.

04

Resell

The resale settles digitally first.

05

Deliver

The buyer verifies the item and the record finalizes. An optional resale fee settles.

06

Service

Repairs and warranty work are added to the history.

07

Repeat

History travels with the item to every later owner.

The protocol's deferred custody mode is designed for luxury resale: the sale settles digitally at once, and the record finalizes when the buyer verifies the item at delivery.

Limits

What NOANE does not do.

A chip signature is not proof that an item is authentic, that the brand made it, or that someone holds legal title. It is designed to prove the item is present and that the record's owner authorized the transfer. Authentication, the brand and the law still do their jobs.

There is no luxury deployment today. This page describes the protocol design and the scope we are developing toward.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

Does NOANE replace authentication?

No. Authentication tells you an item was genuine when inspected. NOANE is designed to record who owns it and to gate each transfer. The two layer together.

Is this an NFT?

No. NOANE is an ownership record bound to the physical item, designed so a transfer needs both the item and its owner. The item is the asset; the record follows it.

How would an optional resale fee work?

A brand can set a fee on verified transfers through participating channels. It is designed to settle when the buyer's verification finalizes ownership, and it applies only where a participating channel is used.

What about the EU Digital Product Passport?

Textiles and apparel are a priority product group under the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, with the delegated act that sets their passport requirements planned for Q4 2027 (indicative). A passport records product data; NOANE is designed to add who holds the item and who can transfer it. See Digital Product Passports.
